Writing Minor Projects
These pieces were assigned for the various writing minor classes that I took at DU. They vary in subject matter to show the range of writing styles I a capable of. To read the pieces, click on the images next to the description.
01
The Just Life
I took a “Landmarks in Rhetorical Theory” class in the Spring of 2022. For our final essay, we were tasked with answering Socrates' question, “Are you living justly?” Looking back at this prompt, it was an interesting time for me to answer this. My sister was admitted to the hospital, where she stayed for the next nine months, and I was struggling with that. On a different note, while answering anything philosophical, one must answer the question with a question. What is a “just” life? What does it look like? In this essay, I give my definition of a “just life” and how it may all depend on people's interpretation.

Creative Non-Fiction: Drum Stick Reflection
For my Theories of Writing class I took in Spring 2023 I was to write a creative non-fiction piece. This one was a challenge for me; I was still determining how I wanted to go about writing something creative AND non-fiction. I generally enjoy the creative bit of writing and have done my fair share of non-fiction writing. However, my brain struggled to combine the two themes. This story (I went a more creative route) explains a time when I received a drumstick from one of the band members of The Revivalists. It is one of my favorite memories, so I decided to give it the credit it deserved.

Revision Project
In Spring 2023, I was assigned a revision assignment where we were to take an old essay and revise it for a different audience. I took the exposure to sibling abuse blog from my psychology page and made it into a podcast.
